Installation for processing polyolefins

Energy Recovery:

It involves converting the energy contained in the plastics to the form of components of liquid hydrocarbon fuels, the so-called "fuel fractions". As a result of research, technological solution of modular installation has been created. Thermo catalytic system is designed as a block circuit, which means that it has modular properties, i.e. it is possible to construct units with less or more power, and power can be easily raised in a modular manner. The installation is characterized by high mobility, whereas an easy transport of the device is enabled owing to the use of container structure.

The performance of one module installation is about 300 l/h. As a result of the process of pyrolysis within the reactor, three products are obtained: liquid fuel fraction, paraffin and a small amount of combustible gas. The module is semi-stationary and easy to use in the field.
The fuel fraction obtained as a result of the pyrolysis of polyolefin is the heating oil, and after subjecting it to a distillation process in a designed distillation device, it is possible to obtain from six to eight consecutive fractions with different chemical properties; from heavy oil to light oil, which after processing can undergo a process of ratification to obtain conventional fuel used to power combustion engines. The produced fuel mixture (liquid phase) has the following features:

• Density: 0.8266 g/cm³
• Cetane number designated with the laboratory method: 53
• Sulphur content: 110 mg/kg
• Kinetic viscosity at 400C: 2.23 mm²/s

Use:

Electricity - the use of fuel in power generators allows for the production of electricity (RES - Renewable Energy Sources).

Paraffin - is a high-calorie product and can be used as an improver in the combustion process (application in energy furnaces).

High energy flammable gas, which is not subject to condensation - can be used to heat the paraffin, dry production raw materials before use, or generate electricity. The produced gas (gas phase) has a calorific value of 54 MJ/Nm3.
